HomeLight Connects Homebuyers/Sellers With the Right Real ...

When it is time to buy or sell a home, it is important to find a real estate agent to help you find the best deal. Many people rely on friends? recommendations or interview several agents. A new startup, HomeLight, offers a more objective way to match homebuyers or sellers with the best real estate agents for their needs.

When Drew Uher, HomeLight CEO and co-founder, and his wife were in the market for their first home a few years ago, they had difficulty finding out about real estate agents? credentials and history to choose the best one. So he decided to make the process of choosing a real estate agent easier and more productive.

?It?s easy to find a real estate agent,? Uher told RESCUECOM. ?It?s hard to find a good one. We believe it?s important to provide a filter based on performance.?

Hiring professionals is important in many facets of home service providers. Performance ratings are important whether you are looking to buy a home or keep computers used in the home in excellent computer repair.

Using proprietary algorithms to search by city, neighborhood, property type and price, HomeLight recommends five to 10 agents best suited to each buyer?s or seller?s needs. Using an agent with experience in the appropriate areas of expertise helps people find the best property or buyers at the best price in less time. HomeLight has data on more than 2 million real estate agents.

Some of the valued skills are pricing, getting homes ready to show, marketing, knowledge of area schools, previous client ratings and past performance.

HomeLight?s services are also valuable to real estate agents, steering business their way in areas they are most qualified and successful. Homelight offers a new way for agents to manage their online reputation by showing how they add value to the home-buying process.

?Buyers like us, sellers love us and agents really love us,? Uher stated. ?We?re a client-acquisition tool for agents. We?re one more arrow in the quiver.?

HomeLight?s services are free to homebuyers and sellers. There is no charge to ?real estate agents for listings to showcase their skills. If a transaction takes place as a result of the listings, the agents pay HomeLight a fee.

Based in San Francisco, HomeLight just launched in November 2012, and is active in 34 metropolitan U.S. areas. Some of those are San Francisco, Los Angeles, Seattle, Denver, Dallas/Fort Worth, Houston, Atlanta, Washington, D.C. and Boston. The team has been researching and organizing data since February in anticipation of the launch. ?We are hoping to expand to Phoenix, Long Island, Vermont, New Hampshire and parts of North Carolina soon,? Uher noted.

Just as important as having access to far-reaching real estate data is having far-reaching access to computer support. Nationwide computer service professionals such as RESCUECOM can serve the needs of homeowners around the country.
