APEX PRODUCTION BENEFITS WOMEN?S CENTER OF EAST TEXAS

Following its sold-out success of?Red Hot Patriot, the next adult show on the stage of APEX Theatre 20 will raise funds for the Women?s Center of East Texas. Directed by Hannah Morris,?The Vagina Monologues?by Eve Ensler will have its first production in Tyler.

The play, which debuted with the playwright reading all the roles, presents thoughts by women of various ages and backgrounds. It will be presented by East Texas actors on Friday, February 22, and Saturday, February 23, at 7:30 p.m. in APEX Theatre 20 at 719 West Front Street, Tyler, where the basement of the Energy Building has been converted into a 49-seat theater and teaching studio. Patrons should enter from the north side on Potter Place. The house will open at 6:30 p.m. with complimentary beverages offered.

The Vagina Monologues is not suitable for children and young teenagers, but families of K-2 children are welcome at monthly third Saturday matinees presented on the APEX stage by Mother Goose & Friends at 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. These presentations are interactive with Mother Goose and her Friends seeking help from the children to accomplish goals in Storybook Land.
