Moroski, who was most recently assistant head coach and running backs coach for the Aggies, will rebuild the College of Idaho football program shuttered in 1977.
He spent eight seasons as an NFL quarterback after being drafted by Atlanta in the sixth round of the 1979 draft. Moroski started six games for the Falcons before winding down his career in Houston and San Francisco. He passed for over 2,800 yards, eight touchdowns and 18 interceptions in his career.
After the NFL, Moroski returned to UC Davis to coach in 1988 - alongside then freshman coach Chris Petersen.
In time, he helped develop one of the most potent offenses in division II football, and Davis won 81 games in the 1990's: eighth-most in division II. Moroski also helped develop UC Davis quarterback J.T. O'Sullivan, who is still top-seven in three different categories in the NCAA division II record book and the all-time leader for average yards-per-play.
Moroski's head coach at Davis, Bob Biggs, retired following the 2012 football season, and much of Biggs' staff has left Davis to pursue other opportunities.
The College of Idaho will officially announce Moroski at a press conference Wednesday morning in Caldwell. It will be Moroski's first head coaching job.
