On spring ball getting going:
?It?s good to be back. Everybody has a lot of energy. It?s better than lifting every day, that same routine gets a little old for us. So to be out here throwing the football around feels good.?
On what he wants to get out of spring season:
?We need to get a lot better. We need to figure out in the first few days and first few weeks the pieces of what we have. We have a lot of new guys coming in, trying to plug guys into the offensive line?d-line is missing some people.?
On how he?ll deal with being grilled on when he?s going to leave for the NFL:
?It will just come with it I guess. Just try to answer the same way every time. It?s always been a dream of mine, but for now I?m very content and very happy with where I am now.?
On getting to know Jake Spavital, his new, 27-year-old QB coach:
?We?ve started to bond a little bit to get a really good relationship between me and him. That?s big for us because that?s what I had with coach [Kliff] Kingsbury. He?s really easy to get along with and he?s a brilliant mind.?
On if he?s cautious signing autographs and his thoughts on not profiting on all the No. 2 jerseys for sale:
?The rules are the rules and there?s nothing really that I could do to change that. For me, I?m always glad to take a picture, sign autographs for people.?
On if he has injury insurance:
?In the process? It?s just a precaution, there?s a lot of players who have done it in the past and you never know what could happen. Football?s a dangerous sport so you have to make sure you take a precaution.
It?s more between my parents, along with A&M. I?m here to play football and go to school.?
On how SEC opponents will scheme to prepare for him:
?Coaches are going to scheme like they always do. This is the same talk when we were in the Cotton Bowl and they said they had a month to prepare and that didn?t really work out well for them [Oklahoma]. So if they want three months, four months, whatever. We?re OK with it. We?re out here trying to get better and trying to make sure we outplay them on Saturday.?
On how this spring is different than last spring, when he had to earn starting job:
?It?s different now only in the regard that last year once I got the starting job, I was kind of nervous and every snap and every play I felt like I had to continue to prove myself. Coach Sumlin said one day, you?ve got the job, relax and do what?s got you to this point.?
